General Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 3 November 2026

These General Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of the PM² Alliance website, creation and maintenance of user accounts, membership of the PM² Alliance, and purchases or registrations made through the website.

1. About the PM² Alliance

The PM² Alliance is an international, not-for-profit professional association bringing together individuals and organisations interested in the PM² Project Management Methodology and in promoting better project management practices.

The PM² Alliance operates the website pm2alliance.eu and provides membership services, professional resources, events, publications, community activities, educational opportunities and other related services.

Contact details:
PM² Alliance

Email: info@pm2alliance.eu
Support: support@pm2alliance.eu

These General Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the PM² Alliance website, creation and maintenance of user accounts, membership of the PM² Alliance, and purchases or registrations made through the website.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the PM² Alliance website, creating an account, applying for membership, purchasing a product or service, registering for an event, or otherwise using services provided through the website, you agree to these Terms.

Where you are acting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on behalf of that organisation.

Certain services, events, certifications, programmes or products may be subject to additional specific terms. Where specific terms apply, they will be communicated during registration or purchase. In the event of a conflict, the specific terms applicable to that service will prevail.

3. User Accounts

Certain areas of the website and certain PM² Alliance services require users to create an account.

Users are responsible for:

  • providing accurate, complete and up-to-date information;
  • keeping their login credentials confidential;
  • ensuring that their account is used only by authorised persons;
  • promptly updating their account information when circumstances change; and
  • notifying the PM² Alliance of any suspected unauthorised access or misuse.

Accounts are personal unless specifically created as an Organisational Membership account or another type of account expressly intended for organisational use.

The PM² Alliance may suspend, deactivate or delete an account where it reasonably believes that the account is being misused, contains false or misleading information, infringes these Terms, poses a security risk, or is otherwise being used in a manner inconsistent with the purposes or rules of the PM² Alliance.

4. Membership

The PM² Alliance offers different types of membership for individuals and organisations. The membership types, applicable fees, duration and benefits are those displayed on the PM² Alliance website at the time of application or renewal.

Submission of an application and/or payment of a membership fee does not necessarily create an unconditional right to membership. The PM² Alliance reserves the right to review membership applications and, where justified, refuse or cancel an application, subject to applicable law.

Membership is associated with the person or organisation identified in the application and may not be sold, assigned or transferred to another person or organisation without the prior approval of the PM² Alliance.

Members are expected to support the objectives and values of the PM² Alliance and to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully when interacting with other members, volunteers, partners, staff and the wider PM² community.

5. Membership Period and Renewal

Membership is valid for the period stated at the time of purchase, activation or renewal.

The membership period normally begins when the membership has been activated following receipt or confirmation of the applicable membership fee, unless otherwise expressly agreed.

Before or following expiry, members may be invited to renew their membership. Renewal is subject to the membership fee, membership conditions and benefits applicable at the time of renewal.

Unless an automatic or recurring payment arrangement has been expressly selected or agreed, membership does not automatically continue merely because an account remains technically accessible following its expiry date.

The PM² Alliance may change membership fees, categories, benefits or membership periods for future membership periods. Any such changes will normally apply from the next purchase or renewal and will not retrospectively alter a membership period that has already been paid for, unless required by law or agreed with the member.

6. Membership Fees and Payment

Membership fees must be paid using one of the payment methods made available or otherwise accepted by the PM² Alliance.

The member is responsible for providing correct billing information, including, where applicable, the organisation name, invoicing address, VAT number and other information required for invoicing.

Any taxes or other charges applicable to a transaction will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the information provided at the time of purchase.

A membership is considered paid only once the relevant payment has been successfully received or otherwise confirmed by the PM² Alliance.

If a payment is reversed, cancelled, disputed, charged back or otherwise remains unpaid, the PM² Alliance may consider the corresponding membership unpaid.

7. Unpaid or Expired Memberships

Access to membership benefits is conditional upon the applicable membership fees having been paid.

If a membership fee, renewal fee or other amount relating to a membership remains unpaid, the PM² Alliance may, at its discretion:

  • suspend access to members-only areas and resources;
  • deactivate the membership;
  • remove the member from the applicable members' directory;
  • withdraw access to membership discounts, benefits or privileges;
  • deactivate an Organisational Membership profile;
  • suspend or delete the associated user or organisational account; and/or
  • terminate the membership.
Where a membership fee remains unpaid, including where a membership has expired and the applicable renewal remains unpaid, the associated membership account may be deactivated or permanently deleted by the PM² Alliance without prior notification to the member.

This may result in the loss of access to the account and to information, settings or materials stored exclusively within that account.

Members are therefore responsible for ensuring that membership fees are paid on time and that any information they wish to retain is appropriately saved before the end of their membership period.

Deletion or suspension of an account does not cancel any payment obligation that arose before such deletion or suspension.

8. Organisational Membership

8.1 Eligibility and Application

Organisational Membership is intended for organisations wishing to participate in and support the PM² Alliance community.

Applicants may include companies, SMEs, public authorities, universities, educational institutions, research organisations, associations, non-profit organisations, international organisations and other eligible legal entities or organisations accepted by the PM² Alliance.

An organisation applying for Organisational Membership must provide the information requested during registration, which may include:

  • the organisation's official name;
  • the name and details of an authorised contact person;
  • invoicing address;
  • VAT or equivalent registration information, where applicable; and
  • an email address to be associated with the Organisational Membership profile.

The email address designated for the Organisational Membership profile must comply with the registration requirements displayed on the website and, where required by the registration system, must not already be associated with an existing Professional, Student or other membership account.

8.2 Authorised Representative

The individual submitting an Organisational Membership application confirms that they have sufficient authority to act on behalf of the organisation.

The organisation is responsible for ensuring that the PM² Alliance is informed if its authorised representative or principal contact changes.

The PM² Alliance may rely on instructions received from the registered organisational contact until it has been notified of a change.

8.3 Organisational Profile

An active Organisational Member may be provided with an organisational profile and/or included in the PM² Alliance Organisational Members Registry or other membership directories.

By becoming an Organisational Member, the organisation authorises the PM² Alliance, for the duration of its active membership, to identify it publicly as a PM² Alliance Organisational Member and to display information supplied for this purpose, including its organisation name and, where provided and authorised, its logo.

The organisation confirms that it has the necessary rights and permissions to provide any logo, trademark, image, text or other material submitted to the PM² Alliance.

The PM² Alliance may edit the formatting or presentation of such information for technical, editorial or consistency purposes without materially changing its meaning.

The organisation may request reasonable corrections to its membership profile by contacting the PM² Alliance.

8.4 Organisational Membership Benefits

Organisational Members may receive benefits described on the PM² Alliance website or otherwise communicated as part of their membership.

Membership benefits may include access to resources, community and networking opportunities, events, publications, membership directories, preferential conditions, visibility opportunities and other services.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Organisational Membership does not automatically create individual Professional Memberships for every employee, officer, contractor or representative of the organisation.

Any individual memberships, vouchers, discounts, certifications, event registrations or other benefits included within a particular Organisational Membership arrangement will be governed by the conditions communicated for that arrangement.

Benefits may evolve over time as the PM² Alliance develops its programmes and services. The PM² Alliance may replace, modify or discontinue individual benefits where reasonably necessary, provided that the overall nature of the membership is not materially misrepresented.

8.5 Use of Organisational Membership

Organisational Membership may only be used for the organisation for which it was purchased.

An organisation must not provide account credentials or members-only material to unauthorised third parties or use its membership to obtain benefits for unrelated organisations or persons.

Where access is provided to multiple authorised persons, the organisation remains responsible for ensuring that such persons comply with these Terms.

8.6 Expiry, Non-Payment and Removal of Organisational Accounts

Once an Organisational Membership expires, its membership benefits may cease immediately.

The PM² Alliance may remove an expired organisation from its Organisational Members Registry, remove its logo or profile from the website, disable membership privileges and restrict or deactivate its organisational account.

If an Organisational Membership or its renewal remains unpaid, the PM² Alliance may suspend, deactivate or permanently delete the organisational membership account and associated profile without prior notification.

The organisation is responsible for monitoring the validity of its membership and ensuring timely payment of renewal fees where it wishes its membership to continue.

9. Membership Benefits

Membership benefits are provided for the benefit of active members and are subject to availability and any specific conditions applicable to the relevant benefit.

Access to a particular benefit does not guarantee availability at all times. Events, programmes, discounts, publications, services or other opportunities may be changed, rescheduled, replaced or discontinued.

Discounts and membership privileges generally cannot be combined with other promotions unless expressly stated otherwise.

The PM² Alliance may verify active membership status before providing any member-only benefit.

10. Events, Training, Certification and Other Services

The PM² Alliance may advertise or provide conferences, webinars, workshops, training, examinations, certifications, publications and other professional services directly or in cooperation with other organisations.

Such services may be subject to separate registration conditions, certification rules, cancellation conditions or terms of service.

Where a service is provided by a third party, Affiliate Training Provider, partner, certification body or other independent provider, that provider's own terms may also apply.

Membership in the PM² Alliance does not in itself guarantee successful completion of a training programme, examination, certification or professional designation.

11. Orders, Payments and Invoices

Prices displayed on the website are those applicable at the time of purchase, subject to correction of obvious errors.

The PM² Alliance may use third-party payment processors to process online payments. Users may therefore also be subject to the relevant payment provider's terms.

An order or registration may be cancelled where payment cannot be completed, where incorrect pricing or information was displayed as a result of a technical error, where fraud or misuse is suspected, or where the requested product or service cannot reasonably be supplied.

Invoices and other accounting documents will be issued in accordance with applicable legal and tax requirements.

12. Refunds, Cancellations and Statutory Rights

Except where otherwise stated in the conditions applicable to a particular purchase, membership fee, product, event or service, fees already paid are generally non-refundable once the relevant membership or service has been activated or made available.

This provision does not limit any mandatory cancellation, withdrawal, refund or consumer rights that apply under Belgian law, European Union law or other applicable legislation.

Where the purchaser qualifies as a consumer and has a statutory right of withdrawal, that right will apply in accordance with applicable law. Statutory withdrawal rights may cease or be affected where a service has begun or been fully performed at the consumer's express request and with the acknowledgements required by law.

Specific cancellation or refund conditions communicated for an event, course, examination or other service form part of the terms applicable to that purchase.

13. Acceptable Use and Community Conduct

Users and members must not use the PM² Alliance website, community services or membership facilities:

  • for unlawful, fraudulent or misleading purposes;
  • to harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against other persons;
  • to impersonate another person or organisation;
  • to obtain or attempt to obtain unauthorised access to systems or accounts;
  • to distribute malware, malicious code or other harmful material;
  • to scrape, systematically copy or commercially exploit protected content without permission;
  • to distribute members-only materials to persons who are not entitled to access them;
  • to falsely claim endorsement, accreditation, certification, partnership or official status with the PM² Alliance; or
  • in any other manner that may damage the PM² Alliance, its systems, its members or the wider community.

The PM² Alliance may suspend or terminate access where these requirements are violated.

14. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, the content made available through the PM² Alliance website, including the website design, PM² Alliance branding, logos, graphics, text, databases, membership materials and original publications, is owned by or licensed to the PM² Alliance and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

No rights are transferred to users except the limited right to access and use the relevant material for its intended purpose.

The PM² Methodology and materials originating from the European Commission or other third parties may be subject to separate ownership, copyright, reuse or licensing conditions. Nothing in these Terms is intended to claim ownership by the PM² Alliance of third-party intellectual property.

PM² Alliance membership does not grant a member the right to use PM² Alliance logos, certification marks, badges or other protected branding except where such use has been expressly authorised and in accordance with the applicable branding rules.

15. Content Submitted by Users and Members

Where users submit information, text, photographs, logos, testimonials, articles or other materials for publication or use by the PM² Alliance, they confirm that:

  1. they are entitled to provide the material;
  2. its use will not infringe the rights of another person or organisation; and
  3. the information supplied is accurate and not misleading.

Where material is submitted specifically for publication, promotion, a directory, membership profile or community activity, the user grants the PM² Alliance the non-exclusive right to use, reproduce, format and display the material for that purpose.

16. Communications

By creating an account or becoming a member, users acknowledge that the PM² Alliance may send administrative and service-related communications necessary for managing the account or membership, including payment confirmations, membership information, renewal information, important changes to services and other operational communications.

Marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable data-protection and electronic-communications requirements.

Users are responsible for ensuring that the email address associated with their account remains valid and regularly monitored.

Failure to receive an email because contact information is incorrect, outdated, blocked, filtered or no longer monitored does not extend a membership period or invalidate an otherwise properly implemented account action.

17. Privacy and Personal Data

Personal data is processed in accordance with the PM² Alliance Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable.

Users should review the PM² Alliance Privacy Policy for further information concerning the categories of information collected, purposes of processing, disclosures, security and individual rights.

18. Third-Party Websites and Services

The PM² Alliance website may contain links to third-party websites, platforms or services.

These links are provided for convenience or information only. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the PM² Alliance does not control and is not responsible for the content, availability, security or privacy practices of third-party services.

The inclusion of a link does not by itself constitute an endorsement.

19. Website Availability

The PM² Alliance aims to maintain the website and its services in good working order but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

Access may occasionally be restricted or interrupted for maintenance, upgrades, security reasons, technical difficulties or circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the PM² Alliance.

The PM² Alliance may modify, replace, discontinue or reorganise website features where reasonably necessary.

20. Information and Professional Advice

Content published by the PM² Alliance is provided primarily for professional, educational and informational purposes.

Although reasonable efforts are made to provide reliable information, website content should not be regarded as legal, financial, tax or other regulated professional advice.

Users remain responsible for determining whether information or resources are suitable for their particular circumstances.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the PM² Alliance will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the website, membership services or related resources.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including liability arising from fraud, wilful misconduct or other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Nothing in these Terms affects mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.

22. Suspension and Termination

The PM² Alliance may suspend or terminate an account or membership where:

  • fees remain unpaid;
  • these Terms or other applicable rules have been materially breached;
  • information supplied is materially false or misleading;
  • the account is used fraudulently or unlawfully;
  • the user engages in serious misconduct towards the PM² Alliance community;
  • continued access presents a security, legal or reputational risk; or
  • suspension or termination is otherwise permitted under the applicable membership rules or law.

Where appropriate, the PM² Alliance may provide notice or an opportunity to remedy the issue. However, it may act immediately and without prior notice where reasonably necessary, including in cases of security risk, fraud, serious misconduct or unpaid membership accounts as provided in these Terms.

Termination of membership does not automatically create a right to reimbursement of fees already paid, except where required by applicable law.

23. Changes to these Terms

The PM² Alliance may revise these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to its services, membership arrangements, technology, legal obligations or organisational practices.

The current version will be published on the PM² Alliance website together with the date of the latest update.

Material changes affecting active memberships may also be communicated through the website, member account or registered email address where appropriate.

Continued use of the website or services following the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

24. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

25. No Waiver

Failure by the PM² Alliance to enforce any provision of these Terms on one occasion does not constitute a waiver of its right to enforce that provision or any other provision on a later occasion.

26. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Belgian law, without prejudice to any mandatory legal protections that may apply to consumers under the laws of their country of residence.

To the extent legally permitted, disputes relating to these Terms, the website or PM² Alliance membership shall be subject to the competent courts of Brussels, Belgium.

Where mandatory consumer-protection rules provide otherwise, those rules will prevail.
