Enhancing Border Security with Project Management and Risk integration through PM² methodology in FRONTEX HQ!

Recently (26–29 May), participants from various units took part in an intensive PM² Methodology Workshop at FRONTEX HQ, focusing on the integration of Project and Risk Management in border security operations with the support of PM² Alliance! The main goal of this specialized training was to equip participants with the skills needed to gain the PM² Advanced Certification and to effectively apply the methodology in complex, high-stakes environments.

Throughout the workshop, participants were trained in all phases and artefacts of the PM² Methodology. The sessions were highly interactive, specifically tailored to demonstrate how PM² can be efficiently integrated into border management and security projects. Through this interactive workshop, we examined real case scenarios relevant to FRONTEX’s operational challenges.

We started with a Team Building activity and the Initiating phase. After that, we worked on the Planning phase by identifying our Stakeholders, creating our Project Triangle, and producing the proper PM² Artefacts. Risk identification, analysis, and response strategies were also key components of our discussions, ensuring that risks are continuously monitored and controlled without causing problems.

Productive discussions were raised in every class, and a lot of work has been done on post-its and digital PM² templates! From today, the team will start reading for the exams of the PM² Advanced certification. We wish them the best of luck!

Until next time!
