On 12 June 2026, DiscoverIT organised the live webinar “PM² Methodology in a Nutshell”, offering participants a concise and practical introduction to PM², the open and lightweight project management methodology originally developed by the European Commission.
The session was designed for professionals looking for a clear, structured and easy-to-apply methodology to support the effective implementation of projects. With no prerequisites required, the webinar provided an accessible entry point for participants from different sectors and professional backgrounds who wish to better understand how PM² can support their project work.
During the webinar, participants were introduced to the key elements of the PM² Methodology, including its history, benefits, principles, pillars and mindsets. The session also addressed the PM² project organisation model, with a focus on roles, responsibilities and the responsibility assignment matrix, helping participants understand how PM² supports clear governance and accountability within project environments.
The programme further explored the PM² lifecycle, its main phases, processes, inputs, tasks and outputs, as well as the importance of phase kick-offs, phase closure and acceptance gates. Participants also gained an overview of PM² artefacts and how they are connected to the lifecycle and project management processes.
Through lectures, reflections and practical examples, the webinar highlighted the simplicity and applicability of PM², showing how the methodology can be immediately used to improve project management practices across different types of projects.
The PM² Alliance welcomes initiatives such as this one, which contribute to raising awareness of PM² and supporting the wider adoption of a common, open and effective project management language across Europe and beyond.
