PM² in support of CSDP Missions and Operations

Another powerful collaboration towards disseminating the PM² advantage across Europe

The PM² Alliance in collaboration with ESDC, the Hellenic Joint Supreme War College and LAFP organized a tailored course on the application of PM², the official Project Management Methodology of the European Commission, for the benefit of CSDP Missions and Operations.

The training conducted was thorough with increased involvement on the part of the participants instead of passive listening, as most than 80 % of the overall course duration was spent on practical workshops. All participants had the chance to apply the methodology and discover themselves the various benefits that arise from using it.

During the practical workshops, 4 real-case scenarios were analyzed, which were proposed by the participants during the course’s preparatory asynchronous stage and therefore corresponded to the CSDP field of action. Through these scenarios, participants were able to fully understand how to apply PM² for their own projects and how it can be better tailored in order to successfully meet their organisation’s specific needs and requirements. This fact is also confirmed by their active involvement and engagement throughout the workshops.

Participants’ feedback was particularly encouraging and rewarding, especially considering all the effort that had to be put into designing and delivering such a demanding course in the frame of the Coronavirus restrictions.

The next course iteration will take place in Cyprus on 17 to 21 May 2021 and will be organized by the PM² Alliance in collaboration with the Security and Defence Academy of Cyprus, while there is already an increased demand for participation.

The PM² Alliance would like to thank all three co-organising institutions for the smooth cooperation, as well as our participants and keynote speakers for a particularly constructive experience.

We aim to continue such partnerships towards enhancing European project management and promoting the PM² Methodology across Europe and beyond. We are also committed to delivering trainings to the highest quality standards in order to help project teams in managing projects effectively and delivering solutions and benefits to their organisations and stakeholders.
