PM² Methodology at Oil and Gas Industry

Within the context of the Waha Oil Company’s development plan, members of the Project Management Office (PMO) team from the Major Projects Department delivered the first presentation on the application of the PM² Project Management Methodology, which includes best practices in project management in addition to the project management information system accompanying the methodology, to new development projects.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Adel Abbaza, Director of the Main Projects Department at Al-Waha Company. As indicated, the establishment of the Project Management Office (PMO) in the department came aligns with the vision and strategy of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), aiming to increase production rates and establish the Strategic Programmes Office (SPO) at NOC. It also builds upon the efforts made by the engineering and project departments involved.

It is worth noting that PM² has a successful track record in European Commission projects. It offers flexible plans, checklists, records, and ready-to-use forms that can be customized for each project’s requirements. It provides a clear matrix of tasks and responsibilities for all project functions and activities. This simplifies project monitoring and enables reporting on project performance through the Dashboard to the relevant authorities.

Currently, a group of specialists with previous achievements and successful experiences with international companies in the field of establishing and operating PMO project management offices is being sought after.
