Collaboration between the PM² Alliance and ENAT

Making PM² accessible to the European Network of Accessible Tourism

The PM² Alliance and the ENAT – The European Network for Accessible Tourism team up to promote higher standards of project management in accessible tourism sector training and development initiatives.

The Brussels-based non-profit associations, ENAT and PM² Alliance have signed an MoU with the aim of sharing expertise and fostering closer relations among their members and partners.

Over the last 12 years ENAT has built a strong reputation as a champion for the development and promotion of better access in the tourism sector for visitors with disabilities or other access requirements. Its associates and members include the UN World Tourism Organisation, national and regional tourist boards, tourism enterprises, educational institutions and organisations representing people with disabilities and other advocacy groups.

ENAT has carried out numerous projects and studies for the EU Commission and European Parliament, contributing to education and training for the tourism sector and development of accessible destinations and businesses in Europe and further afield

ENAT and the PM² Alliance will collaborate in the following areas:

  • Promotion of our Member Associations at EU and International levels
  • Collaboration in joint promotions of each other’s initiatives through websites and social media, publications, tourism conferences, events and incentive programmes
  • Develop joint project proposals/projects, benefiting from each other’s networks, expertise and experience.

  • Promote each other’s names and logos on our websites.
  • Include news and/or articles, where relevant, in each other’s online channels (websites, blogs, etc.)
  • Participate, where possible, in events organised by our respective organisations.

The time has come for projects on accessible tourism to be managed with a common and effective project management methodology.

The PM² Alliance will help ENAT and its member organisations and stakeholders to integrate the PM² best practices in the initiating, planning and monitoring of their high impact EU and Member States funded projects.

Tourism projects are always challenging, given the number and variety of stakeholders involved in this complex domain. We hope to make our outreach more effective and increase the impact of our members’ activities by linking up with this dynamic association of highly skilled PM practitioners.

The tourism sector plays an important role in the economic and social development of Europe. We can anticipate that many businesses and public bodies will need to make significant adjustments, due to the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
