From September 8th to October 8th, eight staff officers from the University of Cyprus successfully completed a comprehensive PM² Methodology Workshop delivered online by Human Asset, with the support of the PM² Alliance. The objective of the training was to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to obtain the PM² Advanced Certification and apply the methodology effectively across a range of projects.
The workshop followed a blended format, consisting of seven days of live online training and seven days of asynchronous learning. This flexible yet rigorous approach enabled participants to explore the full lifecycle of the PM² Methodology, including all its phases and key artefacts.
The group, drawn from the university’s Research and Innovation Support Services, engaged with a realistic case scenario inspired by an EU Directorate-General project. The training began with a team-building exercise and a deep dive into the Initiating phase. Participants then moved on to the Planning phase, where they identified stakeholders, constructed the Project Triangle, and produced essential PM² Artefacts.
During the Execution phase, the focus shifted to managing Change Requests and applying effective Monitoring and Controlling practices to ensure project stability and success. Each session fostered active participation, with meaningful discussions and collaborative exercises using PM² templates and digital artefacts.
Now entering the final stage of their learning journey, the team is preparing for the PM² Advanced Certification exams, scheduled to take place in three weeks. With a solid foundation in the methodology and a practical understanding of its application in EU-funded contexts, the participants are well on their way to becoming certified PM² practitioners.
The PM² Alliance commends the University of Cyprus for its commitment to professional development in project management and is proud to have supported this initiative.
