The University of Ljubljana hosted a two-day in-house training course on Management and Coordination of EC-Funded Projects: The PM² Methodology, delivered by European Academy, a PM² Alliance Affiliated Training Provider (ATP).
Conducted at the Faculty of Social Sciences, this hands-on programme marked the first of two dedicated PM² workshops delivered to the University in 2025, reflecting a growing institutional commitment to project governance excellence and alignment with European Commission-endorsed standards for EU-funded project management.
A Structured Journey Through the PM² Methodology
The training provided participants with a comprehensive, practice-oriented introduction to the PM² project management framework, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to manage complex, multidisciplinary EU projects effectively.
Key modules covered during the two-day session included:
- Understanding EU funding structures and the PM² project environment
- Step-by-step guidance for initiating, planning, executing, and closing EC-funded projects
- Applying risk management, stakeholder engagement, and communication planning techniques
- Using official PM² artefacts and templates such as the Project Charter, Work Plan, and Business Case
- Strengthening governance, quality assurance, and post-project review practices
Interactive discussions, real-case analyses, and guided exercises helped participants translate methodology into actionable steps tailored to their faculties and research teams.
Advancing Academic Project Management Excellence
By adopting the PM² methodology, the University of Ljubljana reinforces its strategic focus on high-quality project management across departments engaged in Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and other EU-funded initiatives.
This session laid the foundation for continued capacity building and professional development within the university’s project support structures, ensuring staff are prepared to manage European projects with confidence, compliance, and efficiency.
