Recommendations

To further enhance the impact of such training initiatives, it is recommended that DRC consider implementing an ongoing training platform that:

  • Reaches a broader segment of civil society, ensuring that more individuals benefit from capacity-building efforts.
  • Adapts content to local contexts, emphasizing relevant projects that resonate with community needs.
  • Tailors the PM² methodology to meet specific organizational requirements, ensuring its applicability across various sectors.
  • Launches a certification program in the PM² methodology, providing targeted individuals with internationally recognized competencies and enhancing their employment opportunities within Libya.
  • Focuses on building a sustainable system that will contribute to the longevity of capacity-building initiatives in project management. This system should facilitate continuous learning and adaptation, ensuring that the skills acquired through training are not only maintained but also expanded upon over time.

Additionally, it is noteworthy that this training was conducted entirely in Arabic for the first time in the Mena region, reflecting DRC’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity in capacity building.

Conclusion

The training was a significant step towards strengthening the capacities of individuals involved in project management within the humanitarian sector.

The skills acquired will contribute positively to their respective organizations’ effectiveness in managing projects that address community needs.

By adopting a project management training platform and offering certification opportunities, DRC can maximize its impact on civil society development in Libya and create a positive example for others to follow.
