In May 2025, European Schoolnet, a leading network of education ministries advancing innovation in teaching and learning across Europe, partnered with European Academy to deliver a focused in-house PM² Methodology training tailored to its team’s real-world needs in managing and coordinating EU-funded projects.
The live online course, delivered via Zoom, was facilitated by European Academy, a PM² Alliance Affiliated Training Provider (ATP), and designed to strengthen participants’ mastery of the European Commission’s official project management methodology, PM². The training reflected the growing demand among pan-European networks for structured, compliant, and collaborative approaches to EU programme management under Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, and Digital Europe.
Building Competence with the European Commission’s Project Management Standard
Developed by the European Commission, the PM² Methodology provides a common language, structure, and toolkit for managing projects efficiently, transparently, and in full alignment with EU governance standards.
During the two-day online course, European Schoolnet’s staff explored:
- The PM² project lifecycle and its alignment with EU-funded project frameworks
- Creation and management of key artefacts including the Project Charter, Work Plan, and Business Case
- Stakeholder definition and role allocation through the RASCI model
- Best practices in risk management, quality assurance, change control, and communication
- Proper procedures for project closure, reporting, and lessons learned
Through interactive sessions, practical exercises, and expert-led discussions, participants gained hands-on skills for embedding PM² principles into both daily project operations and long-term strategic planning.
Certification Pathway: From Learning to Recognition
Upon completion, all participants received PM² Basic Certification exam vouchers, offering an opportunity to validate their skills with a formally recognised PM² credential.
This certification pathway reinforces European Schoolnet’s commitment to professional development and excellence, ensuring its staff remain fully equipped to manage complex, multi-partner EU projects in compliance with European Commission standards.
