Presentation Summary
Considerations of diversity, equality and inclusion have become the focus of increasing attention in policy-making, public and company governance and programme development in a wide range of areas over the past months.
EU funded projects in the social and economic spheres frequently place requirements on project managers to address gender balance, provisions for inclusion of persons with disabilities, youth, older persons, and other target groups to promote participation and more equitable outcomes for users and communities.
Taking the example of “accessible tourism” development and vocational training projects, this presentation takes a look at the challenges and possibilities for managing diversity, not only to meet the set requirements but to deliver higher quality projects, with examples drawn from recent practice.
